Sunday, March 01, 2009
Rawalpindi On the directives of Governor Punjab Salman Taseer, the ‘Sasti Roti’ would be available to the consumers on all 941 tandoors and 42 other sale points around the city and the owners of the ‘tandoors’ failing to comply with the instructions would be sent to jail as the flour was being provided to them on subsidised rates. This was stated by DDO (Revenue) Rawalpindi Arif Rahim who visited the ‘tandoors’ of all areas of the city along with patron of Naanbai Association Rawalpindi Malik Salim Awan on the directions of DCO Rawalpindi Imdadullah Bosal, says a press release. He visited the ‘tandoors’ of Jhanda Chichi, Dhoke Elahi Baksh, PS Waris Khan, PS Banni, PS Ganjmandi, in Satelitte Town, Morgah, Gulzar-e-Quaid and other localities. He said that the meeting was held with District Food Controller Babar Khan and it was decided that flour on subsidised rates would continue to supply to the ‘tandoors’ made for sale of ‘sasti roti’. He said ‘tandoor’ owners would be dealt with iron hands if found not selling ‘roti’ on Rs2. He warned flourmills management not to compromise the quality of ‘atta’ being provided to the ‘sasta tandoors’ failing which heavy fines would be imposed and in case of repeated violations, the said flourmill would be sealed immediately. He said eight special price magistrates would conduct surprise raids to ensure the provision of ‘sasti roti’ to the citizens. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=165174 |
