Zardari meets Aitzaz, assures to restore Aitzaz’s PPP CEC membership

ISLAMABAD: Former Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) president Aitzaz Ahsan on Saturday met President Asif Ali Zardari, in what was being called an apparent effort for a patch up between the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the lawyer leader.

Presidency sources said Aitzaz met Zardari late on Friday in a two-hour meeting to discuss matters of mutual interest, including the overall political situation in the country.

The sources said the president assured Aitzaz of restoring his membership of the PPP Central Executive Committee. President’s spokesman Farhatullah Babar said he did not know if Zardari had decided to restore Aitzaz’s membership or not.
