Islamabad: 50% capital’s streetlights without bulbs, especially sectors G-8, G-7, G-6

Islamabad: Almost 50 per cent streetlights installed in different sectors and roads of the capital are without bulbs due to the negligence of the concerned department of Capital Development Authority (CDA). Sources said it is the only department in the civic agency that did not receive any funds during the fiscal year of 2008-09, while in the upcoming financial year of 2009-10, a huge sum needs to be allocated for the maintenance and repairing of the streetlights. Sectors G-8, G-7 and G-6 along with their sub-sectors, I-8/1 and I-8/3 and other sectors have streetlights without bulbs, causing severe inconvenience to the residents.
