Karachi: ‘Rainwater enters tanks of petrol pumps’
KARACHI: Pakistan Petroleum Dealers Association Chairman Abdul Sami Khan on Monday said owing to heavy rains in the city water which has entered into fuel tanks of some 50 per cent petrol pumps has badly affected fuel availability. He said efforts are being made to remove water from the fuel tanks despite problems. The city received heavy rains in the last two days resulting in power breakdowns throughout the city and still some 70 per cent of the city is without power. An industrialist from the leather sector said “owing to continuous power breakdowns for the last 72 hours, our generators are now running out of diesel and there is no diesel availability on petrol pumps.”
