Power prices likely to increase, petrol prices to decrease

LAHORE: The federal government is likely to announce a 15 percent increase in electricity prices within a week and may reduce the domestic petroleum prices by Rs 5 per litre. Nine power-supply companies had asked the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for a 25 to 35 percent increase, officials said. Dawn News said the prime minister was likely to approve the decision of lowering the petroleum prices within two days.
