Clocks go back by an hour tonight
LAHORE: Clocks across the country will be moved back by one hour from (Saturday) tonight at 12am, Chief Minister’s Secretariat officials told Daily Times on Friday. Clocks had been moved ahead by one hour on June 1 to maximise the use of daylight and conserve energy. However, Lahore Electric Supply Company Limited officials told Daily Times the move did not help reduce load shedding because LESCO required around 3,500 megawatts (MW) but received only 2,500MW from the Tarbela and Mangla power stations. They also said the Pakistan Electric Power Company had expected to save around 300MW, but could only save 250MW daily. staff report
