Fish exports increase by over 86.56% in Sept

ISLAMABAD: Exports of fish and fish preparations witnessed positive growth of 86.56 percent during September 2009 as compared with the exports of the commodities during August 2009. Seafood exports during September were recorded at $18 million as compared with the exports of $9.653 million registered during August 2009, figures issued by Federal Bureau of Statistics revealed. Exports of fish and fish preparations during July-September, 2009-10 witnessed negative growth of 25.80 percent as against the exports of the commodities during the corresponding period of last year. Exports of fish and fish preparations were recorded at $34.369 million during the first three months of current financial year, against the exports of $46.320 million recorded during July-September, 2008-09, it added. staff report
