LDA told not to demolish Big City Plaza
Staff Report
LAHORE: Lahore High Court judge Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday restrained the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) from demolishing the Big City Plaza, situated in Gulberg, Lahore. The judge directed the LDA director general not to demolish the plaza until a final decision on a stay application, pending before the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The judge issued the stay order on a petition moved by the owner of the plaza, who submitted that his plaza was not included in the list of illegally constructed buildings, but the LDA had started demolishing it. He said the Supreme Court had already granted him a stay, but the respondent authority was not complying with court orders. He requested the court to issue a restrain order against the LDA until a final decision in this regard by the apex court. |
