Minister for Housing and Works: Govt determined to overcome shortage of houses’
ISLAMABAD: Minister for Housing and Works, Rehmatullah Kakar has said the government has initiated work on various long and short-term housing projects to overcome houses’ shortage in the country. The government announced to construct one million houses soon after it came into power. So far, around 18000 government employees have got themselves registered Federal Government Housing Employees Foundation (FGHEF) and 5000 units, out of 15000 flats and plots would be allotted to the registered applicants, he said. An agreement to construct about 5250 houses and flats in Karachi would be signed with private sector within next few days, the minister said. staff report
