CDA apathy: Old picnic spot of Rawal Lake losing charm
ISLAMABAD: The old picnic spot of Rawal Lake, which once served as main public place, is losing at its attraction due to the negligence of the Capital Development Authority (CDA), as the civic body is only focusing on renovation of newly built Rawal Lake View Park. A visit to the old picnic spot revealed that renovation and repair work of the area had not been done for a long time due to which the place was losing attraction and disappointing the visitors. The old picnic spot, which was once packed with a large number of visitors from Rawalpindi and Islamabad and other cities visiting the capital, has become a deserted place due to the constant neglect by the CDA’s authorities concerned. Old, dull stone walls, worn out streetlights and few visitors speak volumes for the CDA apathy towards the place. “No new item of attraction is added, only the natural scene of splashing water, moving boats, bevy of ducks and people holding fishing lines no longer hold attraction for frequent visitors,” said Saba Parveen. app http://dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?pag...010_pg11_5 |
