UC-137 office secretary killed over property dispute
* Over-speeding car kills one, critically injures another
Staff Report LAHORE: The office secretary of union council-137 was shot dead in his office over a property dispute in the Kot Lakhpat police precincts on Monday. The deceased was identified as Naeem, 35, resident of Pandokay Kahna. Police said the victim had a property dispute with Imtiaz and Ishtiaq. “The victim was present in his office at Bhatti Colony, Kot Lakhpat, when Ishtiaq along with Imtiaz and two others shot him and then fled the crime scene. He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries,” police officials said. The Kot Lakhpat police station has registered a murder case against Ishtiaq and Imtiaz on the complaint of the deceased’s brother, Mudasir Ali, with no arrests having been made so far. The authorities shifted the corpse to the city morgue for an autopsy and have constituted an investigation team to probe the murder. Over-speeding: Separately, a speeding car crushed a man and severely injured his spouse in the Hanjerwal police precincts. The deceased was identified as Nisar Ahmed, a resident of Sodiwal. Police said the deceased, along with his wife Uzma Bibi, were on their way home on a motorbike when an over-speeding car hit them near Mohlinwal on Multan Road. As a result, the couple sustained multiple injuries and were rushed to a nearby hospital, where the doctors pronounced Nisar dead, while his spouse’s condition was said to be critical by the time of filing of this report. The driver of the car fled the scene. Later, police handed over the body to Nisar’s family, however, no case had been registered until the filing of this report. Also, a car was stolen from the MM Alam Road in the jurisdiction of the Ghalib Market police. As per details, the car owner, Dr Muzammil, the managing director of EFU, parked his car outside a restaurant at MM Alam Road, from where unidentified people stole it. Police have registered a case of car theft with no recovery having been made so far. |
