PPP’s Jehangir Badar acquitted from illegal assets case
LAHORE: Secretary General of Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Jehangir Badar has been acquitted from a reference against him involving illegal assets, Geo News reported Saturday.
A local Accountability Court here acquitted PPP Secretary General Jehangir Badar today from a case accusing him of acquiring illegal assets worth millions of rupees. Badar said his income is far more than his assets. Appearing from the court, he entered a mosque and offered Nawafil there with party’s workers outside the mosque raising slogans feting the success. Badar said a dictator framed these references against him for making illegal assets and unlawful appointments; however, no allegation was proved. Responding a question, Badar said the party would continue the policy of reconciliation with other coalition partners, adding those speaking of toppling the government, will remain ineffectual as ever. |
