Shahbaz advises Gilani not to confront judiciary

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif telephoned Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani over the ongoing rumours of change in the country and advised him not to confront the judiciary, a private TV channel reported on Sunday. According to the channel, the Punjab CM advised the premier to avoid a confrontation with the judiciary. He urged him to let the judiciary deal with its matters and wait for its decisions. He told the PM that confrontation with the judiciary was not in the country’s favour. He said the federal government should leave the matter of Article 248 to the judiciary. Gilani assured the Punjab CM that the government would defend the constitution and the Supreme Court, the channel reported.
