LAHORE: Some 1,500 acres of railways land has been in illegal possession of federal and provincial governments’ departments.

He directed the railways officers concerned to provide within a month details of land under encroachments or illegal occupation.

Railways SSP Ahmad Mukhtar informed the meeting that concrete efforts were underway to retrieve PR land from encroachers. So far, railways police retrieved 494 acres, two kanal, three marla and 213 square feet from encroachers, out of which more than 145 acres were retrieved in Lahore division.
