Sindh: Governor orders use of digital imaging to curb encroachments

Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan has asked the authorities concerned to start work on “digital imaging” in Sindh.

Presiding over a meeting at the Governor House on Friday, he directed the Sindh Information Technology (IT) Department to initially undertake the digital imaging work in all towns of Karachi so as to check land encroachments effectively.

The governor said that the rest of the province should be covered at a later stage.

IT Minister Raza Haroon and Secretary IT Department Rauf Akhtar Siddiqui briefed the governor about the performance and future plans of department.

The governor called for close coordination among IT and other departments and suggested that the record of employees should also be computerised so that the issue of ghost employees could be resolved.

He also directed to appoint EDOs (IT) in each district of the province besides implementing the Media City Project.
