Proposed Operation Against Kachi Abadis Being Opposed

Islamabad – Muzaffar Khan – Chief of All-Pakistan Alliance of Kachi Abadis has stated that the Government has started propaganda to start an operation against Kachi Abadis in Islamabad.

He said that the Awami Workers Party and the alliance would continue to fight for the rights of slum dwellers. “The propaganda that the Kachi Abaids are havens of terrorists has taken strength after recent terrorist attack on district courts”, Muzaffar added.

AWP’s Nazish Zahoor has said that numerous surveys have been conducted by Islamabad Capital Territory Authority and Capital Development Authority on the Kachi Abadis. “If Government will not stop propaganda of linking slums with terrorism, we will conduct a peaceful protest against the Government”, said Nazish Zahoor.
