CPEC will Qualify Pakistan to Boost trade with European countries
Karachi:With the completion of CPEC projects, the investments in Pakistan will reach an unprecedented level in the coming years and now it is a challenge for the country to leverage this opportunity to the fullest.
This was stated by Khalid Awan, Chairman TCS Holdings, while addressing a seminar which was part of the PITF 2017 event titled, ‘China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) – an opportunity for economic transformation’. He said that we should have a measured response to this opportunity and link it with other infrastructure development projects to bring more investment in the country. He added, “As we all are aware that CPEC is a huge project which has the potential to not only let Pakistan increase its trade with the Middle East, but also enhance trade with European countries.” Minister for Interior, Ahsan Iqbal, Vice Chairman of FPCCI, Mirza Ikhtiyar Baig, CPEC Co-ordinator, Hasan Dawood Hussain and others addressed on the occasion. The seminar highlighted benefits of CPEC and the development of the Gwadar port as other speakers also shared their views on various aspects of the CPEC related developmental projects. TCS, Pakistan’s leading express and logistics service provider, was the Gold Sponsor of the Pakistan International Trade Fair (PITF) 2017, which held at the Expo Centre in Karachi. The company had also setup a stall which grabbed attention of the visitors. Apart from the participants, Interior Minister, Ahsan Iqbal also visited the TCS stall and inquired about the services being offered by the company. The Chairman of TCS, Mr. Khalid Awan along with his team, also visited the stall and appreciated the team for their efforts. The event was organized by Federation of Pakistan Chamber Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) in collaboration with Bader Expo Solutions. PITF is the country’s biggest trade and consumer fair aimed at enhancing business networking and partnership-building, particularly from China. |
