National Saving Schemes to offer monthly profits at 16.8% annual rate

ISLAMABAD (February 03 2009): The Central Directorate of National Savings on Monday announced profit of Rs 1400 per month on investment of Rs 100,000 on its various schemes. According to a notification issued by the Directorate, all the existing investors of Pensioner's Benefit Accounts and Behbood Saving Certificates would, with effect from February 1, 2009 be eligible to profit at the rates applicable on December 1, 2008.

The investors would, with effect from February 1, 2009, get profit of Rs 1400 per month on investment of every Rs 100,000. The notification further clarified that for availing the enhanced rates, the existing investors of these schemes will no longer be required to withdraw or disinvest their investments, therefor, no service charges shall apply.
