Islamabad: Residents of Humak appeal for repair of road
Islamabad: Residents of Model Town, Humak have appealed to Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Chairman National Highway Authority for immediate repair of Swan-Kak bridge section of Kahuta road to end their two-year ordeal.
Commuters fear that the dilapidated condition of the road could lead to a tragic incident as vehicles are driven on the road in zig zags to avoid rough patches. “This part of Kahuta road shares major burden of vehicles as its one end touches the Grand Trunk Road and the other links Islamabad Highway. Besides this road connects Azad Kashmir with other parts of the country,” a resident of the area - Muhammad Tahir - told APP. Muhammad Tahir regretted that concerned authorities have been requested time and again but no action has so for been taken. He said once the rough patches were filled with mud, which scattered in two-three days leaving the road in the same old bad condition. He said due to dust residents living along the road are facing air pollution. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=174563 |
