Punjab ready to share IDPs burden: Nawaz
MARDAN/NOWSHERA: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz Supreme Leader Mian Nawaz Sharif has offered to share the burden of internally displaced persons (IDPs) with the Frontier government and said that those responsible for the situation deserved no mercy.

He stated this while talking to local correspondents during his visit to Sheikh Yaseen and Sheikh Shehzad camps on Monday. Nawaz said that ensuring relief for the IDPs was the responsibility the entire nation and every citizen had to play his role to facilitate the displaced persons.

NWFP Chief Minister Ameer Haider Hoti, ANP central leader Azam Khan Hoti, PML-N General Secretary Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, PML-N Provincial President Pir Sabir Shah, Mardan Commissioner Khalid Khan Umarzai, Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Mardan Range Syed Akhtar Ali Shah and District Nazim Himayatullah Mayar were also among those present on the occasion.

Nawaz said the IDPs were brothers of Punjabi people and Punjab would provide all possible facilities and assistance to them. He said all provincial governments should show generosity to the IDPs and share burden of the Frontier.

The PLM-N chief had a round of the IDPs tents to get himself informed about the problems being faced by these people in distress. Earlier, the PML(N) chief arrived at the PAF airbase, Nowshera, wherefrom he drove straight to Mardan. He was received at the airbase by party leaders, including Iqbal Zafar Jhagra and Pir Sabir Shah.
