‘I bought a generator, but cannot use it’

LAHORE: The use of generators during load shedding hours has become costlier, with the increase in petroleum prices and most users have cut down on its use. The increase in load shedding hours has added to the people’s problems as most of them say they cannot afford using the generators for so many hours every day. Malik Zahid, a resident of Cavalry Grounds, said, “I bought a petrol-powered generator for my house, but I cannot use it all the time because petrol has become very expensive recently.” He said that only a few weeks ago, he used to turn the generator on during every power outage, but since the increase in petrol prices and the increase in load shedding (every alternate hour or for two continuous hours) he had to pass much of the time in the heat. staff report
