Only 31% use emergency lights during load-shedding: Survey
Islamabad: Only 31 per cent people use emergency lights during loadshedding, says the findings of a survey, conducted by Gilani poll under Gallup Pakistan.
A nationally representative sample of men and women from across the country were asked, “To what extent is electricity required to carry out whatever work that you do in the office, at home or at any shop?” The survey revealed that majority (42 per cent) of all Pakistanis requires electricity to a great or some extent to do their work. Just as many (42 per cent) are either forced to terminate their work during the day or discontinue working during loadshedding. Only 11 per cent have the luxury of using generators or UPS. Moreover, 34 per cent said their work requires electricity to a great extent, 39 per cent of the respondents’ work requires electricity to some extent, while 14 per cent claimed that very less electricity is needed to do their work whereas 11 per cent of the respondents do not need any electricity. One per cent gave no response. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=184693 |
