US company offers latest drilling equipment to OGDC

ISLAMABAD: A US-based oil and gas exploration company has expressed willingness to provide technological state of the art customised drilling equipment and other Engineering, Cementation, Logging and Wire Line Services to the OGDCL.

Larry Russell Jorden, President Rig Boss LLC, USA along with other members of the company visited OGDCL House here on Friday to explore area of interests and understanding about exploration and production activities, said a company statement.

Mr Jorden said that the company has designed lighter weight drilling equipment to overcome issues of logistic security in difficult parts of the world which is lifted and installed by air for onshore and offshore operations.

Meanwhile Zahid Hussain MD/CEO OGDCL delivered a briefing about OGDCL drilling operation and Strategist Business Plan 2009-10. He said that OGDCL is the national Oil & Gas Company and has largest acreage of E&P Licenses in Pakistan.

He said that OGDCL had drilled 30 wells during the last one year and next year target is higher than the present one. He appraised the delegation about the difficulties being faced by OGDCL to approach for flung-areas in Pakistan, particularly in Balochistan Province.

The delegation was informed that the company has acquired an Exploration License for offshore drilling and likely to drill a well there in near future and OGDCL has also participated in bidding to acquire E&P interests abroad.


Mr Jorden informed the meeting that they would give a details presentation of their specialised drilling equipments, Cementation, Logging and Wire Line services. He further added that his company was operating in China, USA and Europe.

He informed that his company was engaged to drilled oil wells, in Iraq during the last two years and they have gained experience to work in critical condition which can be beneficial and applicable to Pakistan as well.
