PTA, cellular company replies sought in SIM transfer case
LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has sought comments from the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and a cellular company in a petition challenging the transfer of a mobile phone number from one customer to another. The respondents have been directed to file their reply by the month of September. Petitioner S Pervez’s counsel Muqtedir Akhtar Shabir said that Pervez had purchased a SIM card from a cellular company and paid a security deposit of Rs 5,000. He said that the SIM and security deposit were registered in Pervez’s name. He claimed that the SIM card had been transferred to another customer without his client’s consent, adding that the action was in violation of the petitioner’s constitutional rights. He said that Pervez’s rights were guaranteed under Articles 23 and 24 of the constitution. staff report http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp...008_pg7_31 |
