Digital books launched at Karachi Press Club
Four digital books by Obaidullah Kehar were launched at Karachi Press Club (KPC) recently.
The event was organised under the auspices of KPC Library Committee, and was attended by prominent writers and journalists, who paid rich tributes to Kehar for giving unique digital travelogues. Renowned writer, Shakeel A’adilzada, who presided over the ceremony said that producing such digital books was necessary to meet the demands of society and of time. He said that Kehar’s books which provided details of cities in Iran, Turkey, Northern areas of Pakistan and Kashmir could be beneficial for the youth. Secretary of Pakistan Writers Guild, Ahmed Omar Sharif, who was also the chief guest at the occasion, observed that “worthy books” had covered cultures of different societies with a quality presentation. Other writers including Kaleem Chughtai, Asrar Hussain, Rao Waqaur Anjum, Moosa Kaleem and Saleem Mughal spoke on different aspects of digital books, including the role of paperless society, and the literary potential and application of Urdu. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=197767 |
