Some money changers facilitating terrorists: Rehman Malik
ISLAMABAD (October 23 2009): Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik has said that the government is planning to launch a crackdown against the money changers who are involved in illegal transactions supporting terrorists. "There are reports that some money exchange companies are involved in illegal money transaction from foreign sources funding terrorists and we will launch operation against them", the Minister said while talking to reporters here on Thursday.
These money changers are facilitating the terror networks in Pakistan by brining money from foreign sources, he said, adding that the issue has seriously been taken up and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has been directed to conduct full-fledged investigation in the matter. "FIA was asked to probe the matter and anyone found involved in terrorism financing must be dealt under Anti-Terrorism Act", Malik said. He warned all unscrupulous elements to refrain from indulging in heinous crime otherwise they would be dealt with severely under Anti-Terrorism Act without any mercy. http://www.brecorder.com/index.php?id=97...=&supDate= |
