36-year jail sentence for credit cards fraudster
A SPECIAL Banking Court on Tuesday awarded 36-year imprisonment to an accused involved in 14 cases of fake credit cards.
Accused Muhmmad Khan alias ‘King of Credit Cards’ was allegedly arrested in several cases of credit cards fraud by Assistant Director FIA Zia-ul-Islam in January, 2007. The accused was making bogus credit cards in collaboration with his accomplice Muhammad Nadeem. He used to sell fake credit cards to people who used them at shopping malls. The FIA arrested the accused after receiving several complaints from banks. They submitted in their complaints that someone was issuing their fake credit cards which caused huge losses to them. On Tuesday, the court sentenced him 36-year jail after his defendants failed to prove him innocent. After the hearing, Assistant Director Zia-ul-Islam told media men that the court had already sentenced accused Muhammad Khan to 29 years in jail in another case of fraud in 2008. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=210323 |
