A DHA statement said that at the ceremony, the corps commander, who is also president of the executive board of the DHA, lauded the efforts of the HSP for giving impetus to greenery and natural beauty in the metropolis and for acquiring modern tissue culture technology. He termed the establishment of the tissue culture laboratory as a bold initiative heralding a new era of progress and development in the field of horticulture sciences. General Zahirul Islam said that it was heartening to know that organisations like the HSP were engaged in the promotion of healthy activities like the preservation of natural environment and looking after nature. Chairman HSP Lt-Gen (Retd) Jehanzeb Arbab said that the project would be further expanded and modernised to start mass production of plants and flowers through the use of tissue culture technology that would help enhance exports of oriental flowers and plants abroad for earning the much-needed foreign exchange for the country. |
