Computerisation of revenue record inaugurated
Karachi—It is prime responsibility of Board of Revenue Sindh to maintain and preserve total record of lands of Sindh province and computerisation of all such record be strictly maintained for its protection for the record and use of owners and Khatedars of such land.
This was directed by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah, while inaugurating the computerization programme of Land Records in Sindh, at Revenue House, Shirin Jinnah Colony here on Wednesday. He said that the integrated land records computerized system will ensure clear land titles to all land owners of Sindh. Syed Qaim Ali Shah further directed that the land holdings be properly recorded, preserved and protected. He further said that the old land record is in very deteriorated condition, as such it is prime duty of all concerned to preserve, protect and maintain all entries and record of lands. Chief Minister said that the Government of Sindh anticipates a quantum improvement in revenue as a consequence of this system, which will open up opportunities for the private sectors. He further said that it is encouraging that the Government of Sindh has successfully completed the pilot phase of computerization of land revenue records, becoming the first provincial government to accomplish this task. He lauded the efforts of Board of Revenue Sindh and added that NADRA is also being associated in this noble task. Earlier, the Senior Member Board of Revenue Sindh, Shazir Shamoon, briefed the Sindh CM that the objectives of project are the automation, introduction of latest technologies like usage of satellite imagery for land use assessment and preservation of more than 100 years old revenue records. He added that a scheme of Land Administration and Revenue Management Information System (LARMIS), development of GIS (digital mapping) and preservation of Land Records and revamping of survey and settlement has been introduced under the reforms programme. |
