Encroachments: TMOs told to clear 20 model roads,

Lahore : The town municipal officers (TMOs) of all nine towns have been tasked with removing encroachments from service roads and footpaths of 20 major roads within a week in order to convert them into model roads.

DCO Ahad Cheema issued these directions in a meeting at Town Hall The DCO directed the TMOs to show zero tolerance to encroachments and accomplish the task within stipulated time.

Mr Cheema directed them that all illegal parking lots and barriers be eliminated. He also directed them to set up temporary warehouses to keep articles/goods confiscated during the anti-encroachment drive.

He directed the city district government’s public facility wing to cancel licences of parking lot contractors involved in encroaching upon footpaths and pedestrian ways.

Chief Traffic Officer Syed Ahmad Mubeen informed the participants of the meeting that scores of wardens had been deployed on
the 20 roads to ensure traffic flow.

The DCO asked the CTO to direct the wardens to get the traffic rules implemented in letter and spirit
