Karachi—The Anti-Encroachment and Enforcement Cell has been strengthened in the Lyari Development Authority (LDA) to protect the land pertaining to the Authority. Agha Maqsood Abbas, Director General Lyari Development Authority, visited the different Sectors in the Hawksbay Scheme 42 and reviewed the pace of progress of various development works being carried out in the area, says an official of the LDA here on Thursday. The Director General instructed the officials that the additional force recently provided should be deployed wherever is essentially required and strict vigilance be ensured and every residential, commercial and community plots be protected. The Director General said that a total 15 watch towers are being constructed in Hawksbay Scheme-42 out of which six watch towers are at the completion stage for security purpose and keeping an eye and timely action against the land mafia. It was also pointed out that nine watch towers are under construction while two watch towers are being constructed around Journalists Colony. Agha during visit said that it is responsibility of officers that they should take all out efforts to make the Asia’s largest coastal residential scheme as “Free from encroachment”. During visit, the Director General was informed that boundary walls constructed illegally on different points were removed by the Anti-Encroachment staff. He inspected the drainage and drinking water pipelines and construction of road networks etc. in Hawksbay and gave certain technical advice on the spot in this regard. Agha Maqsood Abbas also ordered the officers that effective and drastic steps should be taken against the culprits who would try to grab the land of Lyari Development Authority. On receiving complaints about activities of land mafia in Abid Jamali Goth, Deh Lal Bakhar (Ismail Mubarak Goth) opposite Hotel Nasir Brohi, Sector 64, Khair Muhammed Goth, Deh Moach, Sector 12-C and Sector 2 and 3 of Journalists Colony, Hawksbay Scheme 42, the Director General, Agha Maqsood Abbas directed the officers and engineers that round-the-clock patrolling should be ensured and without considering the affiliation, stern action under the law be initiated against the land grabbers. |
