CM Shahbaz Sharif must ensure proper planning in Lahore
Without making any mistake whatsoever, I suffered road accident not once but twice in the last few weeks. All the credit goes to Chief Minister Punjab, Mian Shahbaz Sharif. Despite the fact that he himself cannot stay on spot to monitor the development work currently going on only and only in Lahore, it is entirely his responsibility to ensure the things go forward smoothly. Hundreds of men are busy in preparing a special road for metro bus service in Lahore, but unfortunately without any planning. On every single day, we see plenty of road accidents just because of lack of planning on part of the people working on roads. Before putting all the blame on CM, I want to elaborate the mess I went through twice. It will give you an idea how badly things are being handled by CM’s team. Kalma Chowk is one of the busiest places in Lahore, and on a blind turn, who can survive a huge hole in middle of the road. It has been filled now, but after a lot of delay. As I turn towards Model Town, I find a huge crack and the front tyre of my motorbike struck in there. As a result, I was in no position to save myself. After a few days, a similar incident took place near General Hospital Lahore. The men placed a huge rock right in the middle of the road, which caused a terrible accident. The first thing I do after getting up was to curse Chief Minister, who does not even bother that mismanagement is creating a lot of problems for the citizens. I am wondering how CM has suddenly woke up after four years of sleep. He did nothing in the last four years and just to get votes in the next general elections, he has started showing his effectiveness. I am not taking anything away from CM. It is good to build necessary bridges and roads, but good planning can save many of us from plenty of mess. I want CM to do something in order to avoid the unwanted trouble in the future. |
