KDA Seeks Land Allotment Adjacent to Northern Bypass for Housing Project Launch
KDA Seeks Land Allotment Adjacent to Northern Bypass for Housing Project LaunchKarachi: The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) is considering the initiation of a substantial housing scheme covering 14,000 acres near Karachi's Northern Bypass to address its financial challenges, as reported by a news source on January 2. According to the information, sources indicate that the KDA's Governing Board approved the scheme approximately two years ago, awaiting consent for the acquisition of state land from the Sindh Government. Naveed Anver, the Director General of KDA, outlined the upcoming steps. He revealed that a proposal, seeking an allocation of over 14,000 acres near the Northern Bypass to the KDA at concessional rates payable in four equal installments, would be presented to the Chief Minister. Additionally, the Board of Revenue (BoR) would be contacted to acquire ownership details of private land in Deh Mithaghar and Deh Mahio for potential acquisition. Emphasizing the surging demand for housing in the city, Mr. Anver highlighted the necessity for around 100,000 new residential units annually, whereas the formal sector is currently capable of delivering only 32,000 units. This gap compels citizens into informal settlements or shanty towns, underscoring the urgent need for accessible housing options. For More Details Visit Pakistan's Most Active Property Forum: |
