NADRA urges citizens to get expired CNIC renewed
Islamabad: The National Data and Registration Authority, (Nadra) has advised the citizens to get their expired Computerised National Identity Cards (CINC) renewed in order to protect their legal, business and other interests linked with these cards.
The Nadra spokesman reminded the holder of expired CNIC that all legal transactions relating to purchase, sale, transfer of property, opening or operation of bank accounts, foreign travel and many other activities that require identification of an individual, require possession of a valid CNIC. He said that the expiry date on CNIC is specially mentioned to ensure that the data of each individual is regularly updated. He warned that after expiry of these cards, the card-holder would not be able to avail any facility that requires irrevocable proof of his/her identification. The Nadra’s official said that Nadra as a responsible corporate entity periodically enlighten the public about the facilities available for them at authority offices. In order to facilitate the senior citizens the Authority has set up special counters at all of its swift centres so that the senior citizens could get their CNIC renew without standing in long queues. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=175943 |
