Need to upgrade IT sector stressed

KARACHI: The need of the day is to enhance our IT exports, develop human resources, establish IT parks, three of which have been set up in Karachi, Lahore and Islamabad, broadband facilities, proper financing, favourable IT policies, and explore new markets in this sector.

This was stated by President PCA Karachi Chapter and CEO of Viper Technology Khushnood Aftab in the first annual dinner held here recently. We should also train our educated youth and provide funding to IT companies so that a trained human resource could be available for the industry, he said. Sharing his insight on the current socio-economic conditions prevailing in the country Aftab said that although as a nation, potential human resources are available in abundance, Pakistan has not been able to prepare its workforce to fully face today’s knowledge economy.

He also pointed out, “We must strive together with the government to develop digital literacy in the country and prepare our youth for a highly competitive environment. Our partners are working to counter this obstacle and are already showing fantastic results.” staff report
