Demand of not to impose GST on medicines

KARACHI: Wholesale chemist council of Pakistan’s President Mohammad Atif Hanif has demanded that the General sales tax (GST) should not be imposed on drugs. He said if GST was imposed than medicine would become out of the reach of common man.

Mohammad Hanif said the present government in two and a half years has completely failed to control prices of drugs and the shortage of medicines from the market.

He said, "The price hike on daily basis is increasing the worries of poor people."

Mohammad Atif Hanif added that immediate notice must be taken in wake of continuous rising prices and imposition of GST on medicines.
