SHO to be included in FIR for crime in his area: Malik

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has ordered that the station house officer (SHO) would be held responsible for any crime in his area in the federal capital. He said in case of any kidnapping or robbery, the SHO concerned will be included in the FIR and DSP concerned will be suspended with immediate effect. The law and order and security of the people will be the primarily responsibility of the area SHO, he said. The ministry has taken this decision on a Daily Times news report published on December 8 stating that the increasing crime rate in the federal capital could be controlled by holding the area SHOs responsible for it.
