Exhibition of world’s largest rings at LAC
LAHORE – The Lahore Arts Council will hold an exhibition of world largest silver rings, an art of sculpture by Mohammad Amin Saleem and his team at Alhamra Art Gallery on Tuesday (tomorrow).
Two rings ‘Global Peace Ring’ and ‘Fragrance of Love’ would be displayed on the occasion. The ‘Global Peace Ring’ is made of silver and gold having weight of 74.66kg. The flags of 210 countries are set on the ring besides their names written with gold and the flowers made of silver and zircons are also shown on this ring. The second ring “Fragrance of Love” is the largest ring made of silver which is included in Guinness Book of World Record having weight 71.680kg. Talking to TheNation, Mohammad Amin Saleem said ‘Ring’ was the affectionate and human philosophy of life, an increasing demand of mankind belonging to any part of the world at the moment. He said we are experiencing the hard times of our life where the whole world suffering from chaos and disruption. He further said global peace has been facing constant threat for many years. The 210 flags on the surface of the ring are an indication of global unity and integrity, which is the dream of every eye in this complex modern world, he said adding, peace developed the fine feeling of love for humanity and zest to reform the down trodden and a passion to ameliorate the conditions of the poor. The artist said the rings emphasised upon security of life with its insistence upon the moral development and the material benefits. “No doubt the present day, our world does not have the atmosphere which is necessary for the free use and application of moral forces, yet we don’t have to be pessimist and lose our struggle to make this world a paradise for mankind” he added. |
