LDA executes development projects to improve physical infrastructure
Lahore Development Authority (LDA) will execute a number of development projects in various localities of the city at a total cost of more than Rs 1 billion for improving the physical infrastructure in the provincial metropolis. This was decided in the Governing Body meeting of LDA, held here on Saturday, which was chaired by District Co-ordination Office Lahore and LDA Chairman Noor-ul-Amin Mengal, disclosed a LDA spokesperson.
The meeting was participated by LDA Vice-Chairman Amir Asgher Dar, WASA Vice-Chairman Haji Muhammad Sharif, LDA Director General Ahad Khan Cheema, Additional DG (HQ) Mariam Kayani, Additional DG (Housing) Muhammad Usman, LDA Chief Engineer Asrar Saeed, Chief Town Planner Chaudhary Muhammad Akram and representatives of the provincial local government, housing, planning and development and finance departments besides administrators of the nine constituent towns of the City District Government Lahore. The Governing body gave approval for carrying out development of infrastructure on the land that would be retrieved from encroachment in LDA Avenue-I Housing Scheme, at a cost of Rs 985.95 million. It also gave a go-ahead for widening, improvement and carpeting of three kilometers' long service roads along Khayaban-e-Firdousy from Shauk Chowk to southern by-pass, M.A Johar Town, at a cost of Rs 102 million. Project of construction of bridge at Satukatla Drain, near Chandni Chowk, Quaid-e-Azam Town, will cost Rs 39.455 million. An amount of Rs 9.32 million will be paid as compensation of 12 structures that had been acquired near Kharak in Sabzazar Scheme, for widening and improvement of Multan Road. The meeting also decided to adopt Punjab Finance Department's notification regarding special allowance equivalent to 50 percent of Ph.D. allowance on acquiring/possessing MS/M.Phil degree to LDA employees. The meeting also allowed amalgamation of additional land measuring 20 kanals. 16 Marlas and 80 square-feet in a private university situated at Khyban-e-Jinnah. |
