Karachi: 200 acres earmarked for ‘IT Media City’ near airport
Sindh government’s Information Technology (IT) Department has acquired 200 acres of land near the Karachi Airport for developing an “IT Media City” with the support of foreign investors from the UK, the UAE and Malaysia.
Sindh IT Minister Mohammad Raza Haroon said this while taking to Japanese Consul-General, Toshikazu Isomura and Deputy-Consul-General Tsuyoshi Itika who visited the provincial IT department on Thursday. Sindh IT Secretary Rauf Akhter Farooqui briefed the two visiting diplomats about the ongoing projects of the IT department. Sindh IT minister said that the IT Media City would be a unique technology-related project of the provincial government with state-of-the-art facilities for investors at a single place near the Karachi Airport. He said that preliminary steps had been taken to launch the project while foreign investors from the UK, Malaysia, and the UAE had expressed their interest to take part in the project.
