Muslim Khan's son applies for Airport Security Force, arrested by intelligence agency

PESHAWAR: A son of spokesperson for the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), Swat chapter, Muslim Khan, was nabbed by members of an intelligence agency Saturday when he tried to appear in a test for recruitment in a security force, a source confided to ‘The News’ on Saturday.

No senior security official, however, confirmed the arrest. Many were surprised as to why the son of such a senior TTP commander was applying for a post in the Airport Security Force (ASF) when the Tehrik was busy

across the country in attacks on security forces.

It was learnt that Mudassir, son of TTP Swat spokesman Muslim Khan, appeared in a test for recruitment as a junior official in the ASF. However, security agencies picked him up after his identification as the son of TTP Swat spokesman.

A son of Muslim Khan was studying in the University of Peshawar till the recent past, when TTP was busy in fighting against the government. He later quit the institution after his identity was disclosed. Family members and close relatives of a number of TTP leaders are serving in government departments and studying in public sector institutions despite the fact that they have challenged the state writ and are killing officials for being part of the government.
