Islamabad: Encroachment upon open plots in I-8 and I-9 goes unnoticed

The residents of flats in Sectors I-8 and I-9 are continuously extending their illegal encroachment activities without any viable checks from the concerned quarters.

The unchecked encroachments can be seen across both sectors, as residents have started occupying open plots in front of their flats by erecting iron fences and makeshift shelters for vehicles.

At certain places, in a dare devil way, a number of residents have increased their land grabbing activity to their neighbourhood by laying concrete pavements.

According to the Capital Development Rules, the residents are only allowed to plant flowers or vegetation on the vacant green plots around the area and any encroachment is against its laws.

“A number of residents are illegally occupying green plots adjacent to their residences by erecting bamboo fences and iron slabs and then constructing car sheds and extra rooms in blatant violation of CDA rules,” says Mohammad Rizwan Abbasi Advocate, a resident.

The residents of the areas have demanded of the concerne authorities to immediately launch an anti-encroachment drive to discourage the covert trend.
