Pak-US strategic dialogue begins at NDU
ISLAMABAD: A two-day strategic dialogue between the National Defence University (NDU), Islamabad and NDU Washington began at NDU, Islamabad, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Tuesday.
NDU Islamabad President Lieutenant General Muhammad Yousaf inaugurated the event. Institute for Strategic Studies, Research and Analysis Director General Major General Azhar Ali Shah, in his welcome address, highlighted the salient features of the strategic dialogue. The NDU Islamabad president extended a warm welcome to the delegates and termed the event a ‘milestone’ in the relations between the two universities. Lieutenant General Yousaf said that the event would help both the institutions to study the contemporary strategic and security environment of the region. He termed the dialogue of a ‘tremendous value’ and said, “Pakistan’s geo-political disposition at the cross roads of regions, unfolds the pivotal role that we take up and its critical linkages with the Pakistan-US relationship”. Head of the US delegation Ambassador William Wood said that the strategic dialogue between the US and Pakistan at various levels helped the bilateral relations between Washington and Islamabad to strengthen further. |
