LUMS to represent Pakistan in international competition in Canada
LAHORE: A four-member team of MBA students from LUMS will leave for Montreal, Canada, on Thursday (today) to represent Pakistan in the 30th annual John Molson MBA International Case Competition. The team comprises Sharjeel Musa Hussain, Babar Hassan, Shahid Yazdani and Sayed Nabeel Ahmad and their professor, Dr Irfan Butt. The competition will be held from January 3 to 8 in which 230 participants from 11 countries are taking part. The John Molson MBA International Case Competition is a non-profit event organised by a team of MBA students from the John Molson School of Business. The competition is open to top business schools worldwide, and is recognised as the biggest competition of its kind. Its main purpose is to bridge the gap between corporate and academic worlds, which ultimately enriches both students and executives alike. LUMS (Pakistan), Ben-Gurion University of the Negev (Israel), Paris School of Business (France) and George Washington University (USA) are taking part in the competition for the first time. Throughout the week, teams will have three hours to read, analyse and develop an innovative solution to a business case. Using acetates and projectors, teams will battle it out to see who can best demonstrate their business acumen when presenting their solutions to a panel of judges recruited from top Montreal corporations. The winner will take home the Concordia Cup, a cheque for $10,000 and the prestige of winning the world’s oldest and largest business competition.
