Survey identifies new property taxpayers

GUJRANWALA The Excise and Taxation Department has completed a property survey throughout the division.

Excise director Ahmad Saeed told Dawn on Wednesday the number of property taxpayers had increased to 658,000 from 613,000, an increase of 45,000 taxpayers.

He said at least 55 survey teams comprising excise taxation officers and inspectors were constituted to conduct the survey in 79 circles of the division.

He expressed the hope that the E&T Department would be able to collect more revenue from property taxpayers under the new schedule on the directive of the Punjab government.
