Lahore: 46 new officers join LDA
LAHORE Development Authority Director General Shahid Mehmood has said that the recruitment of 46 young and qualified officers in the authority will help further improve its image. He was addressing the newly employed assistant directors who joined the LDA here on Monday.
The officers, including 14 women, have been selected on merit after a competitive examination, conducted by the National Testing Service, and interviews. Special permission had been given by the chief minister for following the procedure for selecting the competent candidates from thousands of applicants. From among the new officers, sixteen assistant directors have been recruited in the general cadre, another sixteen in the town planning wing, nine in the accounts directorate and five in the law directorate of the LDA. The LDA DG said it was for the first time in the history of the LDA that new officers had been enlisted on competitive bases. He urged the new officers to adopting a public-friendly attitude and treat people as clients instead of complainants to transform the LDA into a dynamic public service organisation. He expressed hope that new officers would improve the over the performance of the authority by introducing new ideas for ensuring quick redress of public grievances.
