Property registration procedure for Lahore changed
LAHORE: The property-registration process in the provincial metropolis has been changed. According to a notification issued by District Officer (Revenue) Zulfiqar Ahmed Ghumman, property owners are advised to attach a copy of the site plan of their housing schemes along with the documents produced for the registration of their property. Special instructions have been issued to patwaris to issue ownership rights according to the khasra concerned while they are also advised to write separate notes to classify whether the property in question is rural or urban or if it is domestic or commercial. Patwaris have been instructed to write a note as to whether the property is situated in a town or housing scheme and ensure that it has not been mortgaged. Talking to Aaj Kal, Executive District Officer (Revenue) Liaquat Ali Khalil said the registration process had been changed in line with the Land Revenue Act. He said no one would now be able usurp the rights of the others fraudulently. aaj kal report
