Karachi: Plots in DHA City project allotted via balloting
Around 20,000 plots of different sizes have been allotted to applicants in various categories of the in the forthcoming DHA City project; the allotments were made via balloting on Thursday at the Defence Authority Country & Golf Club Convention Hall. PAF Base Faisal Commander Air Commodore Akmal Hussain, who is also a member of the DHA Executive Board, conducted the ballot.
More than 40,000 people applied for residential and commercial plots in the scheme. Handicapped people (civilian and military), who applied for the scheme, were allotted plots without balloting. Meanwhile, the results of the ballot have been posted at the DHA website (http://www.dhakarachi.org) and will also be available at branches of commercial banks. DHA Administrator Brig. (retd) Khalid Tirmizi thanked the applicants for their overwhelming response to the project. He especially thanked the overseas Pakistanis for the tremendous interest shown by them by participating in a large numbers in the balloting. The construction and development of the project will start by mid-2011, Brig. (retd) Tirmizi said.
