Lahore: CM approves widening of Canal Road

LAHORE: Granting approval to widen the Lahore Canal Bank Road, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif said the project would be executed in three phases. According to a handout, the first phase of the project from Thokar Niaz Baig to Dharampura will be completed within a year.

The CM said that development projects worth billions of rupees were being arranged for the rapid development of the province and provision of basic amenities to the people. An effective strategy for timely completion of the projects and the maintenance of high standard of construction work had been adopted, he added. Chairing a meeting at the Government House Murree on Saturday, the CM along with high officials from LDA, TEPA, NESPAK, LDA and CEO Al-Imam Associates Ahmad Mukhtar as well as other officials concerned were present on the occasion. The CM directed prompt completion of the design and said the project of widening the Lahore Canal Bank Road from Thokar Niazbeg to Dharampura should be started immediately and executed within the timeframe. staff report
