Islamabad: PHA to construct houses for federal government employees
Islamabad
Pakistan Housing Authority (PHA) will construct apartments/houses for senior federal government employees (Grade 17 to 22). According to official sources, PHA has recently been tasked to undertake housing schemes for the officers of federally constituted occupation groups and for the low-paid employees of the federal government. They said that the Capital Development Authority has been given the task to purchase 234 acre of land for the project near Kuri Road. A summery in this connection has been sent to the Prime Minister for approval, they added. They said that as the land purchase process is completed, the PHA will start construction work on the project. Apartments will be constructed for grade 17 to 19 employees while houses will be build for grade 20 to 22 officers. The federal government employees in the country in general and in the federal capital in particular are facing a lot of problems due to shortage of government houses and there is a dire need to launch mega-housing schemes for them on war footing, they said. The sources said that a chain of about 37,000 houses for the low-paid FG employees on ownership basis would be built in the Federal Capital. The FG employees would be able to get loans from Askari Bank, they added. http://www.thenews.com.pk/daily_detail.asp?id=132682 |
